Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at anyone aged 19+ who is already working in Health and Social Care. This can either be in a paid role or a voluntary capacity.
Entry requirements
- Good level of written and spoken English
- Agreement of applicant’s employer.
Acceptance will based on applicants performance during Interview and assessment.

- Health and safety and handling information.
Optional units
You will be required to choose from a range of units in order build the qualification to 58 credits. The optional units you choose are specific to your job role.
How will I be assessed?
- Workplace assessments
- observations of performance
This course consists of a mixture of competence and knowledge units, which will all be delivered in the workplace.
What can I do after the course?
- Any of the short courses in Health and Social Care.
- Other career paths in the Health and Social Care industry.
Course
Start date: We start New groups every Mondays of every month
Course time: Times may change subject to demand
- Level 1: Monday 2 pm to 4 pm.
- Level 2: Recruitment on going.
- Level 3: Monday / Thursday 4 pm to 6 pm – Saturday 5 pm to 7 pm.
- Level 5: Recruitment on going.
Class size: Max 15 (average class size 8)
Minimum age: 19
Duration
- HSC level 1: 2 weeks
- HSC level 2: 3 months
- HSC level 3: 4/6 months
- HSC level 5: 12 months
Fees
- HSC level 1: Free
- HSC level 2: £450
- HSC level 3: £850 or 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.
- HSC level 5: £1500
