DTLLS

The Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) or the Diploma in Education and Training (DET) level 5 allows you to become a Qualified Teacher/ trainer

Entry Requirements

  • Experience and a qualification in the subject you intend to teach at a minimum of Level 3
  • Access to teaching in a full teacher role in the lifelong learning sector for at least 150 hours.
  • 75 hours for the subsidiary diploma.
  • Literacy and Numeracy at Level 2.
  • Interview and assessment.

  • Teachers or trainers working or seeking work in the lifelong learning sector who wish to obtain QTLS (Qualified Teacher, Learning and Skills) status.

  • Theories and principles for planning and enabling learning
  • Managing and responding to behaviours in the learning environment (optional unit)
  • Continuing personal and professional development

  • Assessment
  • Teaching observation

What can I do after the course?

  • After successfully completing the course you will be able to work towards QTLS status.

Course Dates

  • Start date: Any Monday
  • Course time: Times may change subject to demand
  • Classes: Friday 11 am to 1 pm / 3 pm to 5 pm / 6 pm to 8 pm.

Class size: Max 10 (average class size 5)
Minimum age: 19

Duration

  • DTLLS-DET level 5: 6 months
